Sycamore AYSO was founded over 35 years ago to bring soccer to any child who wanted to play soccer. It incorporates players from the Illinois areas of Sycamore, Cortland and sometimes DeKalb, Genoa and the surrounding areas. Upper Division teams (which start at age 12) travel to and host teams from surrounding communities including Amboy, Genoa, Rochelle, Rockford and DeKalb.
Sycamore AYSO is run and operated exclusively by volunteers, including board members, referees, coaches, team parents, field set-up, etc. Some of these positions require very little time, some are quite involved. Board members, coaches and referees involve the most time and do receive a gift of appreciation for their dedication. Please consider volunteering your time.
All U12 and under games are played at the Sycamore Field Complex located on Airport Road. Games are all played on Saturday mornings, with a game schedule distributed before the season begins. Weekly practices are scheduled at a certain field and time so that everyone has a dedicated field and time. Our spring season is typically 8 games starting in mid April and ending in early June. We don not play on Memorial Day weekend. The fall season is ten weeks long, with practices starting in late July or early August and games beginning in early August, running through the last weekend before Pumpkin Fest. There are no games on Labor Day weekend.
Upper Division games (U14 and above) are inter-region games, with most games played at Sycamore Field Complex and a few games played in surrounding communities such as Amboy, Genoa, Rochelle and DeKalb. These games generally start and end a week or two earlier than the regular season and are also played on Saturday mornings, with a schedule distributed before the start of the season. There are no games on Memorial or Labor Day weekends.
